Lila Mae Stinson

Affectionately known as the "Mother" of our church, First Lady Stinson’s love for the Lord and family is the center of her life. She is always willing to give unselfishly of herself. She loves helping others and will go out of her way to make sure she has helped someone in need. On many occasions she has visited bereaved families and brought food for them. She also visits the sick in their home or the hospital, brings flowers or a card and prays for them. She feels it is her Christian duty to serve others whenever she can.

Upon retirement, she became a foster mother for a year with the Chance Program. During her employment years she took advantage of many opportunities to serve others.

First Lady Stinson has been a faithful and dedicated member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and active in many ministries – Mission President, choir member, Usher Board President, active attendance in Church School, cleaning the church and cooking. You will always see a smile on her face when she is doing the Will of the Lord. First Lady Stinson’s favorite scripture is Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
